Abstract


LEATHER AND LEATHER PRODUCTS IN THE BATHROOM IN THE LIGHT OF ARCHEOLOGICAL DATA - A DECORATIVE LEATHER PRODUCT APPLICATION (THROW PİLLOW EXAMPLE)

Animal skin is one of the materials that human beings first met. The most basic needs of the first people were nutrition, shelter and cover, respectively. We understand from the wall paintings of the first-generation settlements that reach to day-to-day that they use the meat of the animals they have hunted to cover their nutrition and covering needs to cover the remaining crops of food. The people of the early Bronze Age produced a wide variety of products from mines, wood, ceramics, fabrics and skins, as well as meeting their needs and making a living by trading these products. These occupations were the most popular occupations of the time. From the various finds such as figurines, sculptures made of leather garments, animal bones from archaeological excavations, sculptures, figurines, reliefs, etc., which are used in the early ages, We find the answer by using the related articles. Because of its strong structure, leather is used for functional production in the early ages. Leather is an indispensable material that is used in all parts of the life of mankind all over the world as it is due to its long-term use, protection from cold and ergonomic features. In this work, archaeological data have been used to tell leather and leather products with the documents of the remains from the first ages to the end of the Bronze Age. For the purpose of the study; the leather embellishment which is our traditional handicraft nowadays is formed by the molding of cultures of thousands of years civilizations that lived in Anatolia. The development of the industry and the popularity of rapid production have also affected the leather industry. In order to ensure that our historical handicrafts are not forgotten, it is thought that any kind of scientific research, examination and presentation will contribute to the national culture.
