Abstract

The Coronavirus, which emerged in China and became a global epidemic in a very short time, affected every area of our lives with the same speed. This epidemic, which started to affect our daily life in every aspect since March, has become the constant topic of the agenda. It was noteworthy that in our country, especially in the academic community, the poems written in Classical Turkish Literature style and with the aruz works were drawn. These poems, written in the verse forms such as ghazal, kaside, nazire, to writte taştir and tehzil, save the date and müfred, were a pleasing development for the revival of Classical Turkish Literature. We see that the practices seen in the classical poetry tradition, such as making similar poems, taştir and tehzil, save the date, with wordplay the ghazal technique, are used in these poems. In these poems, it is possible to see the poets’ observations about the Coronavirus, their thoughts, their suggestions for society, their perspectives on life. In these verses, we see that the problems related to Coronavirus related social isolation, cologne, cleaning suggestions to the individual and the society, calls to stay at home for the elderly and the society, travel bans, going out restrictions, distance education and distance education due to the outbreak are also covered. It is rare to write so many poems on a subject in a short time in the classical style. This situation can be seen as an important development on the future of Classical Turkish poetry.
