A STUDY ON THE ANALYSIS OF PUBLISHED BIBLIOMETRIC STUDIES ON TOURISM IN TURKEY

Abstract

In this study, the development of academic studies prepared by bibliometric method on tourism in Turkey and the development of destination, gastronomy, recreation, guidance, sustainable tourism, etc. It is aimed to analyze these studies published under subject titles. In this context, content analysis was made for the studies that can be evaluated under the title of tourism and published in different journals and congresses in the database of the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education (YÖKTEZ). Content analysis in scientific research; It is an approach that allows the examination of verbal, written and other materials in an objective and systematic manner. Within the scope of the study content analysis has been carried out with the accessed 113 academic publications by utilizing the keywords; “Tourism”, “Gastronomy”, “Destination”, “Sustainable Tourism”, “Tourism Guidance”, “Tourism Education”, “Recreation”, “Bibliometric”, “Bibliometric Profile”and “Bibliometric Analysis” to search within the databases of YOKTEZ and Google Academic. In the majority of the studies that are the subject of the research; number of authors, publication language and year, number of pages, use of keywords, university, institute, department, research method, research topic, sample group and volume, use of bibliography, author titles, frequency of keyword repetition, etc. It was concluded that the variables were analyzed. As a result of the scans carried out within the scope of the research, the studies reached were gathered under the relevant headings. It has been determined that many studies have been carried out with the bibliometric method in the field of tourism in Turkey, and bibliometric analyzes have been carried out according to many variables. Considering that the bibliometric method helps the content analysis, the fact that this study, which was carried out so far, is a situation assessment of the studies that have been done in the Turkish literature and that can be accessed, reveals the originality of the study.
