SWOT Analysis of Kırşehir Province Transportation and Logistics Structure

Abstract

Kırşehir, historical Great Silk Road with King located at the intersection point of the way, with a well-established transportation heritage, Turkey is not only geographically but also in the transport and logistics potential is located in the center of the nominal. For this reason, the transportation and logistics structure of Kırşehir province, which is the subject of research; It is predicted to be an important support point in the development of both the city and the country's economy. Research purpose; Determining the status, strengths and weaknesses of the transportation and logistics activities in Kırşehir province, determining the threats and opportunities that may be encountered by means of ways and methods of ensuring effective and efficient transportation activities. In the research, firstly, the transportation and logistics structure of Kırşehir province was revealed and then it was subjected to SWOT Analysis. Data required for the study; T.R. It has been obtained by making use of publicly available information and reports on national and local official institutions, especially the Ministry of Transport. Therefore, the data of this research consists of official, public and secondary type. Also for this reason; reliability, validity, academic ethical principles and rules are met at a high level. As a result of the study, logistics (L type), international passenger transport (B type), international freight transport (C type), cargo management (M), transport warehouse management (N) and distribution management (P type) ), as well as storage and value-added handling activities. On the other hand, the city; geographic care of the transportation network center may be potential, Turkey, South-North and East-West main lines to be at the center of one central point can gain the ability to combine with the railway project is seen as a major opportunity. In addition, there are large and empty spaces for entrepreneurs in the fields of logistics, international freight and passenger transport, among the transportation and logistics activities that have not yet been carried out in the province of Kırşehir. On the other hand, the research; It is thought to be beneficial for national and local governments, transportation and logistics sector, academics, researchers, sector managers and employees, entrepreneurs and those who receive training in the field.
