Logo designs are graphic signs that can be created on behalf of any company, institution, organization or even personal product or service that produces products and services, and serve to give it an identity. It may come to mind that a logo design is created by most people, usually with imaginary or abstract drawings. However, when a little research is done, only typographic approaches are preferred in the logo designs of many companies and institutions that are used professionally. In this research, information about logo designs, which is one of the main fields of activity of graphic design, is presented. In the light of the information presented, logotype and monogram forms, which are commonly used typographic approaches in logo design, are examined with examples. In the continuation of the research, the process of Eskişehir Technical University logo design, which is designed in monogram form, is explained and explanations are made about why the monogram style is preferred.
