OBJECT OF POSTMODERN ART: POST OBJECT

Abstract

Art; The artist realized his existence and progress with a developing communication unity between the art object and the audience. With the changing age, changes and transformations have taken place in these three pillars of art. The artist, art object and audience of the pre-1960 period; It has evolved to a different point by experiencing a change in meaning with various breaks and movements. This study aimed to focus on the transformation of the object, which requires a different reading, especially in the art understanding of the postmodern period. Postobject; It is necessary to approach the art objects of the postmodern period, which we can read as post-object, from a different perspective. Because it is anachronistic to approach the object of today's art with the readings of the art object of modernism and to try to examine it with old habits. As of this point, the necessity for the output of the product to be a physical object has disappeared. Artistic actions without objects appear in this period, where the object, sometimes the thought, the idea, sometimes the idea itself is an art object, and even there is no need to be an art object. The deobjectification of art demands greater participation of the viewer in his relationship with the art object. With the irregularity of the changing art and aesthetic understanding, the viewer renounced the role of watching and found himself in the productions in which the process turned into an art object. This study, which was carried out by scanning the literature, was carried out by sampling the artists and their productions. It contains new propositions in terms of presenting current approaches for today's art practices and revealing the relationship between the audience and the object through contemporary productions.
