ANALYSIS OF STATIONARITY PROPERTIES OF GDP: TURKISH CASE"

Abstract

Economies face many macro-economic problems. One of these macro-economic problems is current account deficit. One of the main determinant of current account deficit is import variable. Credit volume which has a significant relation with import is another determinants variable of current account deficit. In the literature, limited number of studies analyze relationship between current account deficit and credit volume. The aim of this study is to examine relationship between current account deficit and credit volume. Yearly data of current account deficit and credit volume which belong to Turkish economy have been presented as a comparative. As a result of the evaluation, it has been exhibited that current account deficit and credit volume show similar characteristics.
