Abstract

Man is a being with bio-psycho-socio-cultural and spiritual dimensions. It is a whole with requirements for each of these dimensions. Birth is one of the unique life events for a woman’s life. It is stated that the emotional support provided by the health personnel during the birth process improves the feeling of receiving care in women. It is stated that after giving birth, women want to share their birth stories with health professionals, and they perceive this as a part of support or "completion of delivery". In terms of providing emotional support, one of the best effective care models is the “ midwife-led contiunity models. The midwife examines and monitors the woman physically, psychologically ans spiritually during her pregnancy and makes necessary recommendations. The Holistic Approach takes into account the individual's psychological, sociological and mental views and needs. Every individual is made up of body, mind, and spirit as a unified whole and is not simply the sum of body parts. In other words, the holistic approach deals with the patient's special needs and quality of life by placing the patient in a specific time and cultural context, respecting their beliefs. With the holistic approach, the birth event will take place more naturally. This is possible and necessary in all areas where the midwife serves. As a result, the midwife should deal with her work as a whole with all its dimensions, because in the philosophy of holistic care, the human being is a whole and the change or inadequacy that occurs in another dimension affects another dimension.
