This research has been carried out to determine the elements of folklore in the poems of Yavuz Bülent Bakiler. For this purpose, his poem book Harman including the poems in his previous works such as Yalnızlık, Seninle, Duvak is studied. Scanning pattern is used in this research. In order to interpret the findings, twenty five elements of Sedat Veyis Örnek’s Turkish folklore book in which he classihed the subjects of folklore are used. It has been found out that in Bakiler’s poems there are some elements like transitional periods; folklore; religious festivals, parades; celebtations; beliefs; games-entertainment, sports; folk dances; folk music; traditional outfits and traditional ornaments including the elements of folklore. Born in Sivas, Bakiler is the living representative figure of the language in the Anatolian villages. Besides using plain language in his works, the fact that he uses regional dialects makes him a joe public. Bakiler’s poem is an “experience” poem because of its rich content while reading his poems, we can feel the whole suffer and pleasure of Anatolian people. It must be the duty of Turkish Literature and Turkish language teachers to introduce Bakiler’s poems to pupils and teenagers giving much more place to his works in school books
