Abstract

As the service sector comes to the forefront day by day, some concepts have started to be considered more. Emotional labor and organizational silence are two of these concepts. Emotional labor can be expressed as the process by which individuals manage their emotions in accordance with the strategies and policies of the institution while performing their duties. The concept of organizational silence, on the other hand, is the case that the problems that occur in institutions are not expressed by employees. At this point, individuals do not consciously share their ideas and thoughts with their institutions. Emotional labor is the state of exhibiting the emotions demanded by the institution instead of the emotions felt by the individual, and organizational silence is the state of not sharing the feelings and thoughts of the individual deliberately. The main purpose of this study is to reveal the relationship between emotional labor and organizational silence. For this purpose, a research was conducted on teachers in the province of Hatay. Questionnaire technique was used in our research. The data obtained were analyzed in the SPSS program. As a result of the analysis, it was revealed that there is a positive and significant relationship between emotional labor and organizational silence. In addition, as a result of the t test and anova test, it was found that there were no significant differences between demographic variables and these concepts.
