Abstract

The differences of opinion between Russia and Ukraine, which have a common historical, cultural, social and commercial history from past to present, have emerged in the last 20 years, resulting in a deep political separation and ultimately a war between the two countries that led to occupation. The effects of the war turned into a global crisis in a short time, and the economies of all countries and the sectors carrying out commercial activities were adversely affected by this situation. In this scope, the aim of the study is to reveal the negative effects of the complex and political situation that started with Russia's declaration of war on Ukraine on the international aviation industry, Turkey's national airline market and the commercial activities of Russia's flag carrier Aeroflot Airlines. In this respect, content analysis and case study from qualitative research methods are used by using statistical data published by IATA (International Air Transport Association), EUROCONTROL (European Air Navigation Safety Organization), DHMI (State Airports Authority) and various aviation institutions, which are important international and national authorities in the field of aviation. This study; It is expected to contribute to all stakeholders in the aviation industry in international events that may have global-scale consequences.
