In recent years, because face-to-face education became impossible during the Covid-19 pandemic and the February 6 earthquakes, it became necessary to pass to online education systems in education. Various remote meeting platforms, especially Zoom, have been used in distance education systems where students are required to attend synchronous and asynchronous classes away from school and friends. The condition that causes rapidly increasing problems in the time spent in front of the screen and online is defined as Zoom Fatigue in the literature.
In this study, it is aimed to research the effects of negative experiences, known as Zoom Fatigue in the literature, on academic success that students experience to the intensity and time of education in the distance education system, away from socializing, turning on a web camera, attending class or other reasons. The data was collected from actively registered students at Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University in the 2022-2023 academic year through a survey form, one of the quantitative research methods. The survey was applied to students online and 300 surveys were evaluated. According to the analysis results, a weak negative relationship was found between Zoom Fatigue and Academic Success, and it was concluded that as Zoom fatigue increases, academic success decreases. Additionally, there is a finding that students' zoom fatigue does not change according to age, number of siblings, school graduated from, class attended, place of residence and academic average.
