Abstract

According to studies, acceptance and commitment therapy (CBT) in the treatment of depression provides significant support and performs through processes specific to the psychological flexibility model on which it is based. CBT appears to be comparable in outcomes to cognitive therapy, but has more empirical support for the processes in which it initiates therapeutic improvement. Initial findings supporting the prevention of depression when delivered unconventionally in ACT require confirmation through comparisons to appropriate control conditions. In this study, it was aimed to review the effectiveness of depression intervention studies conducted within the scope of acceptance and commitment therapy.
