Abstract

Research was made to examine the relationship between the situation of exposure to peer violence of preschool children with their moral value structures. The research is relational screening model. The scope of the research consists of 61-72 months old children in need of protection stay in the children’s homes in Ankara in the 2015-2016 and children living with their families, they are continuing affiliated to the Ministry of Education preschool’s kindergartens, official independent kindergartens, and private kindergartens in Kecıoren district of Ankara province. The sample of the research consists of 356 children selected by random sampling from the scope and 48 children staying in children's homes. In the research, “General Information Forms“, “Peer Violence Exposure Scale” and “Determine Moral Value Structure Scale” were used as data collection tools. As a result of the research, it was determined that the scores obtained from the Peer Violence Exposure Scale showed a significant difference in favor of the children living with their families (p <0.05). On the other hand, it was determined that there was a negative and medium-level relationship between the scores obtained from Peer Violence Exposure Scale and Moral Value Structure Determination Scale scores of both children staying at children’s home and living with their families (p<0.01).
