Abstract

Science-Fiction, produced its works inspired from science was also an inspiration for science. Its examples in disciplines such as literature, comics and cinema chosed its topics from those from outer space, space studies, technology, the world of the future, time travel and robots. Jonathan Mostow’s 2009 film  “Surrogates” is one of the original films between the films deals with robots since its original elements take it to the next level. In addition to having almost all of the elements of the movies that deal with Robots, the film contains striking similarities with the Science Fiction films produced in the 21st century.  Film, can also be seen as a projection of the line followed by the Science Fiction of the Century. The fact that it is one of the most philosophical films of Science Fiction and the fact that the robots in the movie are in a style called Surrogates,  managed by its operators were just two of the elements that distinguish the work from others.  The aim of our study is to examine the movie “Surrogates” in parallel with Robot Movies. In other words, to touch on the general characteristics of Robot Movies based on a single movie to determine the place of the “Surrogates” in Science Fiction Cinema in parallel with the sequences from the movie
